WHO AM I

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I belong to the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. I graduated from Yorkville University in 2019 and attained my Master's Degree of Arts in Counselling Psychology.  

 

WHAT I OFFER

I offer a confidential, safe, positive and non-judgmental space when you step into our meeting. My number one priority is to solidify our therapeutic alliance because I believe this bond is what will facilitate the change to your mental health. 

 

WHY I CHOSE THIS PROFESSION

After attaining my Naturopathic Doctor registration in 2015, both Naturopathic Doctors and Psychotherapists became regulated professions. Regulation is essential to provide standardized care that is safe for the public which is great for both professions. The only downside of regulating the act of psychotherapy, was, that Naturopathic Doctors were not awarded to practice this amazing controlled act. I believe to make any health change happen, it is imperative to focus on your mental health first to do so. To make my practice complete, I sought out counselling education so I could practice safely and ethically and treat all aspects of the client. 

 

HOW I AM DIFFERENT FROM OTHER RPs

I like to be human with my clients; this means that I do not try to deflect socially acceptable questions my clients may have of me if it means that it will help your healing. This is done within an ethical frame of mind and with appropriate boundaries. I also like to use humor when it is warranted.

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Every two years I am required to show proof of continuing education to ensure my practice is safe, current and ethical.
